In Kantanagar, in Kahorol Upazila of Dinajpur district, there is a beautiful temple called Kantaji Temple, a temple of great architecture. This temple is basically a Devalay devoted to Sri Krishna. Kantaji Temple of Kantanagar is the most attractive and eye-catching beauty among the Hindu temples of Bangladesh. In 1713, Prannath Roy, the famous King of Dinajpur, started the construction of this beautiful temple. But when Prannath Roy died in 1722, his son, Maharaja Ramnath, completed his unfinished work in 1752. It was about 40 years to build and decorate this magnificent temple of this beautiful and beautiful art. This temple is built in a square with bricks on the foundation of three 3 feet high stone. Apart from this foundation, the use of stone was never seen in the construction of the temple. The length of each side is about 51 feet long. There are verandahs around the house of the temple. The construction techniques and decorations of the verandah are done in the same artistic style. There are two thick pillars in the middle of the verandah. These pillars are designated. It is also known as Nabaratna Temple because it has nine peaks in the temple. The unique attraction of the Kantaji Temple is the Terracotta Pulp Decoration. These terracotta leaves have been found in different types of living. Among them are the story of the epic Ramayana, the story of Krishna, the pictures of various deities, the royal procession, the scene of the dancer-dancer, the social scene, the scene of the chase, the scene of war, the family scene etc. More livelihoods have been found in this area, such as sapling design, geometric design, and various types of animals. In the celebration of the tradition of Kantaji temple and annual religious place of the Hindus, 15-day fairs are organized here in Ras Purnima.
